We had the best tour we’ve ever had with Vid. First of all, we highly recommend booking a private tour. We were able to set our own pace and blew past large tour groups at major attractions. Vid was accommodating, knowledgeable and fun to be with. We hit all of the major attractions in about 3 hours and never felt rushed. Vid provided not only standard contextual history but also personal touches. He even provided info re our next stops and offered his personal info if we had Qs. Best tour guide ever!

Thanks to our outstanding guide Vid, we had an awesome trip. Vid took us to every nook and cranny and was knowledgeable on every aspect of the region. In addition he was always punctual, courteous and such a pleasure to be with. The tour exceeded our expectations.Vid worked hard and paid attention to detail and our interests. Vid you are an excellent guide and driver. The tour was special to me as it was to retrace part of my Uncle’s escape from a German POW camp in Maribor to where he was flown to Italy from a partisan airfield in Otok. The weather was wet, but arrangements had been made to be met by locals at three points to learn about the partisans, and this escape. Well done on a great day Vid.

Vid was outstanding!!! We had a wonderful time touring around Slovenia with Vid. He was very pleasant and extremely knowledgeable. I was a little anxious since we had never used Tours by Locals before. Don’t be! We can’t wait to return to Slovenia and you better believe that we’ll be calling Vid for another tour!! We spent 3 weeks in the Mediterranean and this was one of our favorite tours out of all of them!

If only we could give Vid 10 stars, because he deserves them! We had an EXCELLENT day with Vid touring through the mountains in Slovenia. He was a careful driver who entertained and informed us throughout the entire day. He is kind and charismatic and nothing was too much trouble for him. Vid is a first rate tour guide. My wife has been a licensed tour guide for 25 years so her expectations are quite high. Vid exceeded them easily. This was a full day tour and vid and I corresponded well before the tour to make sure the tour was tailored to our desires. Then, he was very flexible the day of the tour, as we adjusted things. Vid is a true treasure. You won’t go wrong by hiring him.

A fantastic and very special tour that was specially tailored for us. We were so moved to visit this very special place which is an important part of Slovenia’s history. Vid is the BEST!! Vid brought the city of Ljubljana to life with his vast knowledge of his hometown. We appreciate his pride for his city!! Plus, his insight into the History, Art, Culture, Politics, Economics, Architecture of this enchanting city will be remembered by myself and my family for years and years. Also, I was impressed by how Vid created a walking path that was very organized. He has created a “circle of sights” that is well-paced, (especially in the summer heat). Vid rocks!

We spent the entire day with Vid traveling through northern Slovenia to the coast and back. Vid could not have been a better guide. We had a fantastic day with Vid. He is personable, knowledgable, and cares about sharing Slovenia with visitors. Vid paid attention to our interests and abilities and adjusted accordingly. We climbed to amazing view points and explored historical villages. The wine stops were wonderful; very different wineries with excellent wines and food to accompany them. Vid lead us on an outstanding tour.

We arranged a custom 4-day tour with Vid. We outlined our interests, which included wine touring (2 days), photography of classic attractions & touring alpine areas. Vid did an amazing job of customizing the tour to our interests. He arranged many outstanding private winery visits at which we were hosted by the winemaker or owner. The quality of the tastings surpassed that of any tastings we’ve done in the US over a 40 year period. We learned a lot about Slovenia because his knowledge is encyclopedic

We had an amazing time exploring Bled and the scenic mountains of the National park in this area. Vid is an outstanding guide and we look forward to our second tour with him tomorrow! What makes Vid such a special guide is that he is extremely knowledgeable and the whole day he worked with us to show us the areas we were most interested in. My husband is into photography so he adjusted the stops based on the changing weather conditions and allowed us to spend as much or as little time as we desired.

Wow, what a great day we had with Vid. We so enjoyed his passion for his country, knowledge of the history and the great places he showed us. We took a walking tour of the city of Ljubljana, drove to Lake Bled, eat at a fantastic restaurant near the lake, took a boat ride on the lake to see the church and visited a castle. Vid was full and energy and information and made this day very memorable for us. We will never forget this beautiful country. Thanks Vid!!!!!!

Vid was a VERY accommodating tour guide. My husband and I travelled to Slovenia to research my family history. Vid was able to take us to various villages that are connected to my family and to help us translate historical documents. I couldn’t be more pleased with his service and flexibility. Vid, Thank you again, Vid, for a memorable day in your beautiful country. We are formulating plans for a trip in late September / early October 2019. I am contacting Elizabeta today to discuss hiking. Adriatic Tours has self-guided motorcycle tours with a GPS so that will work great for John. He will contact you for advice on lodging. So wonderful to meet you and I hope we can connect when we are in Slovenia next year.
